Meet The Staff

 


Larry Bayle
CPO/Executive Director
Larry has been the executive director for two other Boys & Girls Clubs in New England and has an extensive history with non-profits in Vermont. He is on the Rutland South Rotary board of directors as well as the co-chair of the Rutland Regional Partnership of Family Services of Rutland County. He is well known in Vermont tennis circles having been a state and regionally ranked player as well as a college coach. Larry holds a BA in Individual and Family Studies from Penn State University. He lives in Brandon, VT.



Joyce Binder
Cultural Arts Coordinator / Art Instructor
Joyce has been our arts coordinator since the fall of 2006. She previously worked at the Dana Recreation Center in Rutland, teaching classes on mobiles, sculpture and mosaics, as well as assisting with Theater Arts Classes. Joyce holds a BA in Art from Castleton State College and is an Artist Member of the Chaffee Art Center. Joyce has four daughters, six cats and two dogs. She has lived in the Rutland area for the last 11 years with her family. Before moving to Rutland, Joyce lived in Plainfield, VT and the Czech Republic.




Jonny Rice
Merchants Row Unit Director
Volunteer Coordinator / Technology Czar

Jonny joined the staff in October 2006 as an AmeriCorps volunteer to run the Club’s Technology Program, and now directs our downtown Unit on Merchants Row. Entering his fourth year in Vermont, Jonny hails from the Midwest, graduating from Huntington College (IN) with a degree in Media Communication and Religious Studies. He has spent time working with youth in a variety of settings, first in Michigan as a summer camp counselor, then later as a camp Program Director. Before venturing to New England, he served with AmeriCorps in rural Montana at the Lewistown Boys & Girls Club. Passionate about the mission of the Boys & Girls Club, Jonny is excited to return to our Merchants Row Unit after having helped launch our new Forest Park Unit in 2008.




Maura Danforth
Forest Park Unit Director
Mentor Coordinator
Maura Danforth moved to Rutland in September 2006 with her fiancé, now husband, Chris. Originally from Rhode Island, she has worked in youth programs in Colorado, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, including the South Boston Boys & Girls Club. Maura is passionate about working with kids and their families. She graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH with a BA in Business and a Certificate in Human Relations and Work. In her free time she loves traveling, camping, kayaking, hiking, biking, reading and playing with her Yellow Lab, Bonnie.



Ginger Moore

Director of Operations
Ginger Moore is honored to be a part of the Boys & Girls Club of Rutland County's team, supporting it's mission and helping to achieve their goals. She is a firm believer that everyone is a unique individual and that youth need the opportunity to be engaged in a positive, nurturing environment to support their growth and make healthy life choices. Ginger has obtained an A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education from Central Arizona College with emphasis on management, supervision, and leadership. Ginger has held positions as a director of a licensed child care center of 113 children (6 weeks - 12 years old); administrative manager of a Head Start agency; an executive secretary supporting senior management; and a teacher of preschool children, a before/after school program, and Montessori school.

Ginger is also a proud mom of three wonderful daughters, ages 11, 12, and 14.

Brooke

Brooke Nuckles
Youth in Transition Center Director / Teen Outreach Worker
Brooke Nuckles is thrilled to be working with the teens and staff at the Rutland Boys & Girls Club. She grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lived in Maryland, Oregon and California before settling in Rutland County about two years ago. Brooke Graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and brings ten years of experience working with youth along with her passion for providing opportunities, recognition and fun to Rutland teens at the Club. On weekends, Brooke creates sculpture, enjoys hanging out with her Australian Shepherd, JD, and snowboarding.



Linda MacFarlane
Junior Club Coordinator
/ Music Instructor
Linda MacFarlane, our Junior Club Coordinator, has lived in Vermont for over 20 years. Her experience includes working with youth in a variety of school and camp settings. She holds degrees in Human Services & General Studies, and in the Orff Method (I & II) of music education as a music and movement specialist. Linda is also a Certified Northern Lights Instructor, and has been involved with Head Start, the VAC, and other local schools as a Guitars in the Classroom teacher.




Dave Rampone

Forest Park Program Coordinator

David is a local from Castleton and graduate from Castleton State College with a degree in Social Science with a concentration in Psychology.  He has worked with children as a personal care attendant and as a summer camp counselor. He enjoys traveling and chess. David also plans to further his education hoping to become a child psychologist.

Sid Bradley

Brandon Program Director
Sid has a M. Ed. in School Administration and has worked as a school administrator in Northern Vermont for many years.  Working with the team, Sid will help develop, coordinate and evaluate the activities and programs for the Boys & Girls Club of Brandon.



Brittny Mee

Brandon Program Coordinator
Brittny Mee is the Program Coordinator at our Brandon Unit. Outside of that, she is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Winston Churchill said that. Though he was referring to Soviet Russia.
 


Jon Young

Brandon AmeriCorps Program Assistant
Jon grew up in central Massachusetts. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where he studied English. He recently moved to Vermont and enjoys living close to the mountains. He plans to teach high school English down the road.



Alisha Keel

Youth in Transition Coordinator
Alisha joined the staff in April of 2010 as the new Life Skills Center/Street Outreach Coordinator. Alisha also works for Rutland Mental Health Services as a Case Manager in the JOBS and Youth in Transitional Services Program. She grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Rhode Island to pursue a master's degree in Holistic Counseling. Upon completion of her degree she relocated to Vermont. Alisha has four cats, a gecko named Jerri, and enjoys what Vermont has to offer.



Sarah Schreiber

Youth in Transition Peer Outreach Worker
Sarah is a Peer Outreach Worker for the Life Skills Center and Street Outreach Team of the Boys & Girls Club. She was previously a peer outreach worker for Youth Services doing street outreach to help prevent teen pregnancy in Bellows Falls, Vermont. She moved to Rutland in mid 2009 to live with her boyfriend while going to Vermont Technical College.
